HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 1303PLA I CCM4IISSICN RESOLUTION ND. 1303 A RESOLITPION OF THE PLANNING CQTMIISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT, ZONE CHANGE AND PRECISE PLAN TO ALLOW DEMOLITION OF THREE EXISTING HOMES AND CONSTRUCTION OF A 14,600 SQUARE FOOT OFFICE PROJECT LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF FRED OARING DRIVE AND SAN LUIS DRIVE. CASE NO: GPA 88-2, C/Z 88-2 AND PP 88-10 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 5th day of July, 1988 hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider the request by COSGROVE, HILL, WILSON AND JENSEN TRUST for the above mentioned project. WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, of all interested person desiring to be heard, said canmissicn did find the following facts and reasons to exist to justify their decision. 1. The proposed amendment is not consistent with the intent of the district due to insufficient lot depth. 2. The proposed amendment is not compatible with adjacent residential uses, by creating parking areas in close proximity to the adjacent neighborhood and by demolition of existing houses that are compatible. 3. The plan will substantially depreciate property values in the area by replacing compatible uses with an incompatible structure (18 feet in height and 300 feet in length) . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in this craa. 2. That it hereby does deny the above described project based on the previous listed findings.
