HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 1326PLANNING CCNVMSSION RESOLUTION M. 1326 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW A VOCATIONAL SCHOOL TO OCCUPY A 980 SUQARE FOOT COMMERCIAL SPACE AT 73-851 HIGHWAY 111. CASE NO. CUP 88-13 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 3rd day of January, 1989, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider the request by GOLDS SCHOOL for approval of a vocational school to occupy a 980 suqare foot commercial space at 73-851 Highway 111; and WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City of Palm Desert Procedure for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, Resolution No. 80-89," in that the director of cannunity development has determined that the project is a Class 1 categorical exemption for purposes of CEQA; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planter commission did find the following facts and reasons to exist to justify the granting of said conditional use permit: 1. As conditioned, the proposed use will be compatible with surrounding commercial uses and will not negatively impact parking supplies in the area. 2. The proposed use is consistent with general and secific plan policies for Highway 111 uses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in this case. 2. That approval of Conditional Use Permit 88-13 is hereby granted for reasons subject to the attached conditions. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, held on this 3rd day of January, 1989, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: LADLOW, RICHARDS, WHITLOCK, ERWOOD NOES: NONE ABSENT: DOWNS ABSTAIN: NONE RLCHARD ERWOOD, Chairman A'1'1'EST• RAMON A. DIAZ, Secret /tm PLANNII' CCNIIISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1326 c[NITIOPS OF APPROVAL CUP 88-13 1. The subject use shall be limited to a maximum of 1000 square feet of area. 2. Student enrollment shall be limited to a mamimun of 8. 3. Students shall be required to park in the El Paseo employee lot as long as it is available. 4. Representatives of the City of Palm Desert shall have the right to inspect the premises and audit records of the subject use to insure compliance with these conditions. /tm 2
