HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes No 1384PLANNING COMMISSION IISSIO RESOLUTION NO. 1384 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF A NEGATIVE DECLARATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND CHANGE OF ZONE FRC1 R-2 (7) SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO O.P. (OFFICE PROFESSIONAL) FOR NINETEEN LOTS FRONTING FRED WARING DRIVE BETWEEN MONTEREY AND SAN ANSELMO AVENUES. CASE N0. C/Z 89-11 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the 5th day of September, 1989, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider approval of a negative declaration of environmental impact and change of zone for the above mentioned project, more particularly described as: APN 627-021-004 through 021 WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City of Palm Desert Procedure for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act, Resolution No. 80-89," in that the director of community development has determined that the project will not have an adverse impact on the environment and a negative declaration of environmental impact has been prepared; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said planning commission did find the following facts to justify a recommendation of approval: 1. The proposed change of zone is consistent with Palm Desert General Plan and adopted Specific Plan for the area. 2. Office use is determined to be a compatible neighbor to single family residential given current development standards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the commission in this case. 2. That a negative declaration of environmental impact, Exhibit "A", is hereby recommended for approval. 3. That Exhibit "B" attached hereto delineating the area and the proposed zoning for the area is hereby recommended for approval. NEGATIVE DECLAHATIQ CASE N0: C/Z 89-11 APPLICANT/PRQJDC-T SPONSOR: City of Palm Desert PROJECT DESCRIPTION/LOCATION: Rezone from R-2 (7,000) to 0.P. to allow 19 lots on the south side of Fred Waring Drive between Nbnterey and San Anselmo Avenues. The Director of the Department of Ctanrnuiity Development, City of Palm Desert, California, has found that the. described project will not have a significant effect on the environment. A copy of the Initial Study has been attached to document the reasons in support of this finding.
