A Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of
Palm Desert, California, commending James Cato
Ferguson for his service to the City of Palm Desert.
WHEREAS, James Cato Ferguson has faithfully served on the Palm Desert
Planning Commission from September, 1995, through November, 1997; and
WHEREAS, James Cato Ferguson has served with distinction in the capacity
of Planning Commissioner and Chairperson to the Palm Desert Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Planning Commission, James Cato
Ferguson actively participated in numerous programs designed to improve city planning
in general and the City of Palm Desert in particular; and
WHEREAS, because of his desire for the proper use and development of land and
his firm belief in sound planning principles he contributed much toward processing the many
and varied zoning applications with diligence and effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, his continued support of the Palm Desert General Plan and various
specific plans, in order to more efficiently resolve the zoning and development problems of
the city, led to public support and confidence in Planning Commission decisions.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the Planning Commission of the City of
Palm Desert, California, commends James Cato Ferguson on his service to the City
of Palm Desert as Planning Commissioner and Chairperson to the Planning Commission, and
extends to him congratulations and best wishes in his future endeavors.
Be It Further Resolved, that the Secretary be instructed to transmit a certified
copy of this Resolution to James Cato Ferguson.
Hereby Certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the Planning
Commission of the City of Palm Desert at a regular meeting held on the 16th day of
December, 1997, by the following vote:
AYES: Beaty, Fernandez, Jonathan, Campbell
