A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING TO CITY COUNCIL
APPROVAL OF A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT RELATING TO THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A 1200 UNIT RESORT TIMESHARE PROJECT ON
THE EAST SIDE OF MONTEREY AVENUE BETWEEN FRANK SINATRA
DRIVE AND GERALD FORD DRIVE.
CASE NO. DA 98-1 AS IT RELATES TO CASE NO. PP/CUP 98-5
WHEREAS, the Planning'Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on the
5th day of May, 1998, hold a duly noticed public hearing which was continued to May 19,
1998, to consider the request by MARRIOTT OWNERSHIP RESORT, INC., for approval of a
1200 unit resort timeshare project; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission by its Resolution No. 1860 has recommended
approval of Case PP/CUP 98-5, subject to conditions; and
WHEREAS, a draft development agreement has been prepared which specifies certain
benefits to the city accruing from approval of this project; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the draft development agreement;
and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, Planning Commission heard and considered all
testimony and arguments of all interested persons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm
Desert, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of the
commission in this case.
2. That approval of DA 98-1 is hereby recommended to the City Council subject
to the development agreement being revised to incorporate the comments of the
City Attorney dated May 13, 1998.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning
Commission, held on this 19th day of May, 1998, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: FERNANDEZ, FINERTY, CAMPBELL
NOES: JONATHAN
ABSENT: NONE
ABSTAIN: BEATY
