A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, DENYING A VARIANCE
REQUEST TO REDUCE THE REQUIRED FRONT SETBACK FROM
14 FEET TO 2 FEET FOR A CARPORT STRUCTURE IN FRONT OF
THE RESIDENCE AT 74-745 LESLIE AVENUE.
CASE NO. VAR 00-02
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on
the 5th day of September, 2000, hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider the request
by Shelly M. Armour for the above noted variance request; and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testimony and
arguments, if any, of all interested persons desiring to be heard, said Planning Commission
did find the following facts and reasons to exist to justify denial of said variance:
1. The plans as presented are not consistent with other homes in the nearby area.
2. There are no exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or conditions
applicable to the specific property that do not apply generally to other
properties in the same zone or in the nearby area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission of the City of Palm
Desert, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the findings of
the commission in this case.
2. That VAR 00-02 is hereby denied.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert Planning
Commission, held on this 5th day of September, 2000, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: CAMPBELL, FINERTY, JONATHAN, LOPEZ, BEATY
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE
