APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. MINUTES of the February 1, 2016, Palm Desert Youth Committee meeti ng Upon motion by Member Wood, second by Member Goldstone, and a 10-0-5 vote of the Youth Committee (AYES: Chaplin, Goldstone, Hutchinson, C. Kim, L. Kim, Olson, Schmidman, Seiberg, Shaw, and Wood; NOES: None; ABSTENTIONS: None; ABSENT: Ahmad, Brossfield, Dan, Sanford, and Sandoval-Heglund), the February 1, 2016, Minutes were approved as presented. VI. NEW BUSINESS A. APPOINTMENT of Member to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and provide an update on Youth Committee activities at the March 24, 2016, City Council Meeting. Upon consensus by the Committee, Chair Hutchinson was appointed to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and provide an update on Youth Committee activities at the March 24, 2016 City Council Meeting. VII. COUNCIL MEMBERS Council Member Harnik discussed the State of the City presentation on the General Plan and the San Pablo road diet demonstration that will happen the first weekend of May. 2 : MINUTES PALM DESERT YOUTH COMMITTEE MARCH 7, 2016 � B. STAFF Scholarship opportunities were shared with the committee. C. COMMITTEE MEMBERS 1. Events a. Swing N' Hops Street Party— February 6, 2016 Feedback on the event was shared by Chair Hutchinson. b. City Council Presentation — February 25, 2016 No report c. Senior Inspiration Awards — March 25, 2016 Sign-up sheet was circulated. d. Anti-Bullying School Presentation — March or April — date TBD �` A presentation will be made to Carter Elementary School on March 21, 2016 and Sacred Heart Catholic School on April 11, 2016. e. Fundraiser— A fundraiser will be held on May 21, 2016. The sub-committee meeting date TBD. 2. Proiects None 3. Sub-Committee Updates a. Anti-bullying Subcommittee See above for update. b.
