IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. MINUTES of the Planning Commission Meeting of Ma.rch 1, 1977.
Action: A motion �y Mills, seconded by Kelly, to approve the minutes,
as corrected, was unanimously carried.
V. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS - None
VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS
A. CONTINUED CASE N0. DP 04-77, PRELUDE DEVELOPMENT CO. , APPLICANT
Request for approval of a Development Plan for 50 condominium units
on an approximate 8.94-acre parcel located in the PR-7,S.P. District
and situated northerly of and adjacent to the intersection of Park
View Drive and Fairhaven Drive. Continued from the Planning Commis-
sion meeting of March 1, 1977.
Recommendation: Approve by Planning Commission Resolution No. 222,
subject to compliance with conditions.
Action: A motion by Reading, seconded by Mills, to adopt Resolution
No. 222, approving the Development Plan subject to compliance
with conditions, was unanimously carried.
B. CONTINUED CASE N0. TT 9396, PRELUDE DEVELOPMENT CO. , APPLICANT
Request for approval of a Tentative Tract Map for a SO-lot condiminium
subdivision on an approximate 8.94-acre parcel located in the PR-7,S.P.
District and situated northerly of and adjacent to the intersection of
Park View Drive and Fairhaven Drive. Continued from the Planning Com-
mission meeting of Ma.rch 1, 1977.
Recomznendation: Forward a recommendation for approval to the City Council
by Plannin g Commission Resolution No. 223, subject to com-
pliance with conditions.
Action: A motion by Kelly, seconded by Berkey, to adopt Resolution No. 223,
subject to compliance with conditions, was unanimously carried.
VII. OLD BUSINESS - None
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. COUNTY REFERRAL - PM N0. 9168 - TED AND BETTY MUNDAY, APPLICANT
Creation of four (4) lots located approximately 276 feet easterly of
the intersection of Hovely Lane and Monterey Avenue - County R-1-1
Acre.
Recommendation: By Minute Motion, determine compliance to the City's .
General Plan and direct the Secretary to so notify the
County.
Action: A motion by Berkey, seconded by Reading, to direct the Secretary
to notify the County that the above Parcel Map is in conformance
to the Palm Desert General Plan, was unanimously carried.

VIII. NEW BUSINESS (continued)
B. COUNTY REFERRAL - P M N0. 9378 - DESERT SQUIRE COUNTRY CLUB, APPLICANT
Creation of three (3) lots located at the northeast corner of the inter-
section of Monterey Avenue and the Whitewater Channel - County R-2,
P.-2A, R-3, and R-5 Zoning Districts.
Recommendation: By Minute Motion, determine compliance to the City's
General Plan and direct the Secretary to so notify
the County.
Action: A motion by Berkey, seconded by Reading, to direct the Secretary
to notify the County that the above Parcel Map is in conformance
to the Palm Desert General Plan, was unanimously carried.
C. COUNT'Y REFERRAL - P•M. N0. 9417 - WILLIAM FOSTER� APPLICANT
Creation of two (2) parcels located easterly of and adjacent to
Cook Street, approximately 2,700 feet northerly of 44th Avenue.
County I.P. and M-1 Zoning Designations.
Recommendation: By Minute Motion, determine compliance to the City's
General Plan and direct the Secretary to so notify
the County.
Action: A motion by Berkey, seconded by Reading to direct the Secretary
to notify the County that the above Parcel Map is in conformance
to the Palm Desert General Plan, was unanimously carried.
IX. DESIGN REVIEW BOARD ITEMS
A. REVIEW OF CASES ACTED ON BY THE DESIGN REVIEW BOARD AT THEIR MEETING
OF MARCH 8, 1977.
Recommendation: Approve the actions of the Design Review Board by
Planning Commission Resolution No. 224.
Action: A motion by Reading, seconded by Mills, to adopt Resolution
No. 224, was unanimously carried.
g� DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. DISCUSSION OF THE ARTICLE ENTITLED, "A PROPOSED METHODOLOGY FOR THE
GENERAL PLAN SYSTEM OF CITY AND REGIONAL PLANNING".
B. DISCUSSION OF ARTICLE ENTITLED, "FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION: A COMMUNITY
ORGANIZATION APPROACH".
XI. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - None
Any person wishing to discuss any item not on the Agenda may address the
Commission at this point by stepping to the podium and giving their name
and address for the record. Remarks shall be limited to a maximum of five
(5) minutes unless additional time is authorized by the Planning Commission.

XIII. ADJOURNMENT
** Commissioner Berkey moved that the Secretary be directed to notify the City of
Rancho Mirage, by letter, of the Commission's decision not to agree with their recom-
mendation regarding DP 04-77 and TT 9396. Commissioner Mills seconded the motion;
motion unanimously carried.
