will present an oral report on the Sports Complex.

XI. ADJOURNMENT
A RESOLUTION OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT IT
UTILIZE CITY HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOP-
MENT FUNDS FOR THE SPORTS COMPLEX.
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission of the City of Palm
Desert has been requested to recommend to the City Council projects which
the City may implement with funds received under the Federal Housing and
Community Development Act; and

WHEREAS, the Commission at its meeting of August 31 , 1981 discussed
alternative uses for these funds; and
WHEREAS, the Sports Complex will assist in meeting the recreational
needs of persons outside the City of Palm Desert; and
WHEREAS, funding sources for recreational facilities are unduly
limited, while other needed public improvements have a multiplicity of funding
sources; and
WHEREAS, the Commission at said meeting determined that the facilities
of the Sports Complex are needed and is the project which this Commission should
recommend to the City Council ; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Parks and Recreation Commission
of the City of Palm Desert does hereby recommend to the City Council that funds
received from the Federal Housing and Community Development Act be used to
construct the Palm Desert Sports Complex; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City should attempt to secure any
funding from other sources available for regional facilities for the construction
of the Sports Complex.

PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert
Parks and Recreation Commission, held on this 14th day of September, 1,981 , by
the following vote, to wit:
