II (D rw 11 CD CD • CD . 4 INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM City of Palm Desert TO: City Manager FROM: Director of Environmental Services SUBJECT: Sports Complex Punch List DATE: April 30, 1984 - Need for concrete walk from parking lot to snack stand. 4' wide meandering sidewalk, city will look at cost and report back. - Pine trees in playing area - small trees will be relocated today to tot lot area mounds. - Pads for light poles - have been ordered, Gil will call and check status. - Fence to separate Edison vault from playing area - city has 50 feet of 7 foot high chain link, will install as quickly as possible NLT two weeks. - Seven valve pipes along fence - will be completed by city; cost estimate one week, installation NLT three weeks. - Piece of concrete in outfield - to be dug up today. - Base pegs and holes for 50' base paths - to be removed and filled by PDYSA, will replace with peg bases. - Backstops overhang - city will contact Bob Klien for estimate, problem is foul balls coming over backstop. - Sprinkler hole on field 4 - city will fix this week at edge of fence. - City will order and keep on stock back up timers and sprinkler heads. - Rest Rooms - duty, city will look into installing door on womens rest room toilet (short range); long range - install modesty wall and expand. - Trash Cans - 4 added today, 2 more to be added, PDYSA will instruct teams that no food is allowed in dugouts. - Sprinklers will be checked today for coverage by the city. - Homerun Fences -- city will check into installing portable homerun fences, 200 at foul. lines and 225 to center. - PDYSA wants permission to install backstop area to the east of parking lot for T ball - city will respond, tentative okay given at site. SPORTS COMPLEX PUNCH LIST CONTINUED APRIL 30, 1984 - Need reflectors at turns exiting and signs identifying entrances - city will install. - City will examine use of portable backstops for outfield to set up practice fields in outfields to save infield wear and tear. - City will examine installing toddler equipment in the tot lot area. CONCLUSION: Staff will report next Monday to commission and review items listed as being completed and secure cost estimates of others. I suggest that we order a large mower and vacuum to take clippings away as part of budget. With San Pablo and this field, we'll need it. Oil ,.. .r. :: .• , • '-''''. ..� 'moo CONCEPT PROPOSAL AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, AND THE COACHELLA VALLEY PARKS AND RECREATION DISTRICT TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE FOR THE PALM DESERT SPORTS COMPLEX. This Agreement, made and entered into this 22nd. day of August, , 1983, by and between the City of Palm Desert, hereinafter referred to as the "CITY", and the Coachella Valley Parks and Recreation District, hereinafter referred to as the "DISTRICT" . WHEREAS, the CITY has . planned and developed approximately 10 acres of a 12 acre site located generally south of the Whitewater Channel on the west side of Cook Street as a Sports Complex; and WHEREAS, the parties are desirous of effecting and dividing maintenance responsibilities for said recreational facilities and complex that has been developed as above set forth. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY AND THE DISTRICT HEREBY AGREE AS FOLLOWS: 1 . The CITY shall have maintenance responsi- bilities as follows: a. To maintain and repair all recreational equipment and physical facilities on said property which shall include, but not be limited to, mowing, paving, fertilization, irrigation, and trash collection. 2 . The DISTRICT shall have maintenance responsi- bilities as follows: a. Payment of any and all utility costs, including but not limited to water, sewer, electricity, and gas. b. Repair and replacement of field lighting lamps. 3 . Each party shall provide and maintain throughout the duration and use of said facilities and this agreement, adequate and sufficient public liability and bodily injury insurance. New 4. Both parties hereto shall indemnify, defend, save and hold harmless the other party of and from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, debts, suits, actions, and other causes of action arising out of or in any manner connected with any act or omission of such indemnifying party hereunder or its agents, servants and employees, done or performed pursuant to 'the terms and provisions hereof, arising upon or within the property of such indemnifying party. 5 . The control, scheduling of activities, and use of such facilities shall be shared jointly by the DISTRICT and CITY, as may be mutually determined under a separate utilization agreement. 6. The term of this agreement shall be continuous subject to being terminated by either party hereto upon giving thirty (30) days written notice to the , other party.
