1 . Any person wishing to discuss any item not otherwise on the agenda
may address the commission at this point by stepping to the lectern
and giving his/her name and address for the record. Remarks shall
be limited to a maximum of five minutes unless additional time is
authorized by the commission.
2. This is the time and place for any person who wishes to comment on
non-hearing agenda items. It should be noted that at commission
discretion, these comments may be deferred until such time on the
agenda as the item is discussed. Remarks shall be limited to a

SUBJECT: Children's Chorus Funding
Attached is a resolution of the Parks and Recreation Commission recommending
funding for a Palm Desert Children's Chorus.

A RESOLUTION OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT
RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT IT
APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO ESTABLISH A CHILDREN'S
CHORUS.
WHEREAS, there is a need to provide cultural activities and interests for
children in Palm Desert; and
WHEREA` there is a value to all citizens and participants for cultural
activities for children; and
WHEREAS. a children's choir is a cultural activity that is necessary to
help fill the cultural activity void for Palm Desert's youth; and
WHEREAS. the lone range benefits to the community and participants far
exceeds the requested funding.
NOW. THEREFORE RE IT RESOLVED that the City of Palm Desert Parks and
Recreation Commission recommends to the city council that it support the
efforts to establish a Palm Desert Children's Chorus by appropriating the
requested funds for a two year period.
PASSSD. APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert
Parks and Recreation Commission on this 23rd day of September, 1987. by the
