CALL TO ORDER II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 11,1997 III. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: Any person wishing to discuss any item not otherwise on the agenda may address the commission at this point by stepping to the lectern and Riving his/her name and address for the record. Remarks shall be limited to a maximum of five minutes unless additional time is authorized by the commission. This is the time and place for any person who wishes to comment on non -hearing agenda items. It should be noted that at commission discretion, these comments may be discussed. Board of Directors decision. B. WATER FEATURE IN CIVIC CENTER PARK: Recommendation: Recommend to City Council approval to purchase and install selected water features for placement in the Civic Center Park. C. IRONWOOD PARK: Review of recommendations for Ironwood Park tot lot upgrade. D. RESPONSIBILITY OF COMMISSION: Commissioner Barnes to discuss parks and recreation responsibilities for other cities. V. MISTING SYSTEM FOR TOT LOT AREA: Discussion on misting system for shade structure at Civic Center Park tot lot. D. DUCKS IN CIVIC CENTER PARK: Review handout and discuss possible ordinance prohibiting duck feeding in the Civic Center Park lagoon. VI. INFORMATION/UPDATES: A. RECREATION PROJECT PROCESS: Review and discuss recreation project process flow chart. B. PALM DESERT SOCCER PARK: Approval of final design and estimate, approval to go out to bid, and adoption of "Palm Desert Soccer Park" as official name of the facility at June 26th City Council meeting. C. CIVIC CENTER PARK PICNIC PAVILIONS: Bids opened on June 19th. Going to City Council meeting of July 10th for award of contract. D. ADOPT -A -PARK: Update from commissioners on park inspections.
