CITY OF PALM DESERT
MEMORANDUM
To: John M. Wohlmuth, City Manager
From: Martin Alvarez, Director of Economic Development
Date: October 16, 2012
Subject: 44-845 San Clemente
On September 9, 2012, the City experienced a significant wind storm, which caused
damage throughout the City. Staff was recently contacted by the adjacent property
owner to the City owned property located at 44-845 San Clemente Circle (Alessandro
Alley). The resident indicated that our existing wood fencing adjacent to her rear yard
was damaged during the wind event and is partially falling over onto her property.
During my inspection of the site, I identified other portions of the wood fencing had been
damaged as well (see attached photographs). The damaged fencing is required to be
repaired to comply with the City's property maintenance ordinance.
With your approval, staff will authorize the repairs to the wood fencing in the amount of
$475.00. This expenditure will be charged to Account No. 451-4341-433-4001 and the
City may receive reimbursement for this expenditure from the ROPS, Project Area 1,
line 43, if the property is sold or transferred back to the Successor Agency.
