CALL TO ORDER Mayor Benson convened the meeting at 4:05 p.m. II. ROLL CALL Present: Councilman Buford A. Crites Councilman Richard 5. Kelly Councilman Walter H. Snyder Mayor Pro-Tempore S. Roy Wilson (arrived late) Mayor Jean M. Benson Also Present: Bruce A. Altman, City Manager David J. Erwin, City Attorney Sheila R. Gilligan, City Clerk/P.1.0. Kirby J. Warner, ACM/Director of Economic_ Development III. ADJOURNMENT Councilman Snyder moved to add the adoption of Ordinance No. 554 to the agenda as an item that had come up after the agenda was posted. Mayor Benson seconded the motion, and it carried by unanimous vote of the Councilmembers present (Wilson absent). City Attorney Dave Erwin advised that the second reading of this ordinance had inadvertently been omitted from the October 13th and 27th agenda of the MINUTES NOVEMBER 1, 1988 ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE PALM DESERT CITY COUNCIL PAGE 2 • • ! # • • f f f # ! • A ! ! f 4 • ! f • • Council, the aiscovery of which had been made on October 31st. Because the applicant was anxious to move forward with the project, he had asked that Council consider adoption of the ordinance be considered at this adjourned meeting. Upon motion by Snyder, second by Kelly, Ordinance No. 554 was adopted by unanimous vote of the Councilmembers present (Wilson absent). Councilman Snyder moved to adjourn to Closed Session for the purpose holding discussions on Personnel and on Pending and Potential Litigation, the latter in accordance with Sections 54956.9(a) and (b) of the Government Code. Councilman Crites seconded the motion, and it carried by unanimous vote of the Council. Mayor Benson adjourned to Closed Session at 4:10 p.m. Mayor Benson reconvened the meeting at 5:30 p.m. and immediately adjourned to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 1988, with no action from Closed Session announced.
