I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor/Chairman Snyder convened the meeting at 2:30 p.m.

IV. NEW BUSINESS
A. PRESENTATION BY INTRAWEST RELATIVE TO ITS PORTION OF THE
DESERT WILLOW AT PALM DESERT PROJECT.
Mr. Ortega noted that this was to be a presentation only and that he did not anticipate
the Council/Agency would make any decisions at this time. He added that Intrawest
would be presenting plans that they would be taking to the Planning Commission on
September 6, 1996.

Mr. Jim Gibbons narrated a description of the project as authored by wordsmith Paul
Smith.
Architect Allen Hart and Landscape Architect Chris Phillips also reviewed the project
and offered to answer any questions.
Councilman/Member Spiegel questioned the retail aspect of the project. Mr. Gibbons
responded that this was a different part of the company and that they were working
on a proposal to submit to the City looking toward a retail village more geared to the
destination resorts.
Councilman/Member Crites stated that although he liked everything the wordsmith had
said about the project, when he looked at the drawings he did not see the same thing.
He said he felt it needed a lot of work.
V. ADJOURNMENT
Upon motion by Crites, second by Kelly, and unanimous vote of the City Council/Agency
Board, Mayor/Chairman Snyder adjourned the meeting at 3:45 p.m.
