Spiegel MINUTES ADJOURNED REGULAR JOINT MEETINGS OF THE PALM DESERT CITY COUNCIL, PALM DESERT REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AND PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY V. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS JANUARY 15, 2008 Just prior to adjournment of this meeting, the following Oral Communication was received: MS. SUSAN MARIE WEBER, Palm Desert, CA, addressed the City Council/Agency Board/Authority Board, to inquire about four items that she said community members routinely ask: 1) Why Police Department reports are not readily accessible to the public; 2) why City Council Meetings are held at 4:00 p.m. on a workday when it's difficult for people to participate; 3) why Palm Desert City Council Meetings aren't televised; 4) why the City of Palm Desert is in the hotel business. Following up, she related that after recently asking Mrs. Klassen for response, she was advised that the City was working on developing a website link for Police Department Reports that would soon be operational. VI. NEW BUSINESS A. CONSIDERATION AND DISCUSSION OF LONG-RANGE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE CITY OF PALM DESERT. City Councilmembers/Redevelopment Agency Board Members/Housing Authority Board Members and staff discussed and worked throughout the day on the topics presented on the supplemental agenda for this Meeting. It is attached to these Minutes as Exhibit "A." Recess periods for breaks and lunch were observed from 9:55 a.m. to 10:10 a.m.; 11:12 a.m. to 11:25 a.m.; and 11:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, respectively. VII. ADJOURNMENT Upon a motion by Spiegel, second by Kelly, and 4-0 vote of the City Council/Agency Board/Authority Board, with Ferguson ABSENT, Mayor/Chairman Benson adjourned the meeting at 2:35 p.m. to Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at 8:00 a.m. at Desert Springs J.
