Kohn, Director of Special Programs Steve Smith, Planning Manager Richard Twedt, Public Arts Manager Upon motion by Kelly, second by Crites, and a 5-0 vote of the Authority Board, Chairman Spiegel adjourned the meeting to Closed Session of the City Council and Redevelopment Agency at 3:04 p.m. He reconvened the meeting at 4:05 p.m. MINUTES PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING JULY 8, 2004 I11. CONSENT CALENDAR A. MINUTES of the Housing Authority Meeting of June 24, 2004. Rec: Approve as presented. B. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION for RPM Company to Contract for Carpet Replacement Services on an As -Needed Basis at Housing Authority Properties. Rec: By Minute Motion, authorize Property Management Contractor RPM Company to utilize Carpet Collection, Van Nuys, California, for carpet replacement service on an as -needed basis for nine (9) Housing Authority Properties — funds have been appropriated in the FY 2004/05 Housing Authority Operating Budget under Contract Services. C. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION for RPM Company to Contract for Annual Pool Maintenance Services for Housing Authority Properties. Rec: By Minute Motion, authorize Property Management Contractor RPM Company to enter into contract with V. M. Pool Service, Indio, California, in the amount of $31,800 for pool maintenance service of all nine (9) Housing Authority Properties — funds have been appropriated in the FY 2004/05 Housing Authority Budget under Contract Services. D. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL of Contract for Architectural Design Services and Development of Project Scope for Rehabilitation of the Laguna Palms Housing Development (Contract No. HA23010). Rec: By Minute Motion: 1) Approve the subject agreement with Prest Vuksic Architects, Palm Desert, California, in an amount not to exceed $25,000 plus $2,000 for reimbursable costs; 2) authorize the Chairman to execute said contract; 3) authorize the Director of Finance to set aside the amount of $2,500 as a 10% contingency for the project (use of contingency requires additional action) — funds are available in Account No. 871-8610-466-4001. Member Kelly moved to approve the Consent Calendar as presented. Motion was seconded by Ferguson and carried by a 5-0 vote. IV. CONSENT ITEMS HELD OVER None 2 MINUTES PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING V. RESOLUTIONS None VI. NEW BUSINESS JULY 8, 2004 A. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR RPM COMPANY TO CONTRACT FOR LANDSCAPING SERVICE FOR HOUSING AUTHORITY PROPERTIES. Vice Chairman Crites moved to, by Minute Motion, authorize Property Management Contractor RPM Company to enter into contract with Liberty Landscaping, Riverside, California, in the amount of $22,676 per month for landscaping services for nine (9) Housing Authority Properties — funds have been appropriated in the FY 2004/05 Housing Authority Operating Budget under Contract Services. Motion was seconded by Benson and carried by a 5-0 vote. B. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR RPM COMPANY TO CONTRACT FOR SECURITY PATROL SERVICE AT ONE QUAIL PLACE AND CALIFORNIA VILLAS. Vice Chairman Crites moved to, by Minute Motion, authorize Property Management Contractor RPM Company to enter into contract with O'Linn Executive Security Service, — Inc., Palm Springs, California, in the amount of $106,060 for courtesy patrol services at One Quail Place and California Villas — funds have been appropriated in the FY 2004/05 Housing Authority Operating Budget under Contract Services.
