Upon a motion by Spiegel, second by Benson, and 5-0 vote of the Authority Board, Chairman Crites adjourned the meeting to Closed Session for the City Council and Redevelopment Agency at 3:03 p.m. He reconvened the meeting at 4:00 p.m. MINUTES PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING JULY 14, 2005 III. CONSENT CALENDAR A. MINUTES of the Housing Authority Meeting of June 23, 2005. Rec: Approve as presented. Upon motion by Kelly, second by Ferguson, the Consent Calendar was approved as presented by a 5-0 vote. IV. CONSENT ITEMS HELD OVER None V. RESOLUTIONS None VI. NEW BUSINESS A. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. HA23010A FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES AT LAGUNA PALMS APARTMENTS (JOINT CONSIDERATION WITH THE PALM DESERT REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY). Mr. Ortega reviewed the staff report and recommendation. Housing Authority Member Spiegel moved to: 1) By Minute Motion, assign the contract and remaining balance of the original Contract No. HA23010A to the Redevelopment Agency, Account No. 870-4481-464-4001, from the Housing Authority, Account No. 871-8610-466-4001, and authorize the City Clerk to so notify contractor. Motion was seconded by Kelly and carried by a 5-0 vote. Redevelopment Agency Member Spiegel moved to: 2) By Minute Motion: a) Accept Contract No. HA23010A from the Housing Authority; b) approve Change Order No. 1 in an amount not to exceed $36,000 to said contract with Prest Vuksic, Inc., Palm Desert, California, for additional architectural services needed for Laguna Palms Apartments — funds are available in the FY 2005/06 Capital Improvement Budget, Account No. 870-4481-464-4001; c) authorize additional reimbursables of $2,000; d) authorize the Chairman or his designee to execute all documents necessary to implement the assignment and Change Order request. Motion was seconded by Kelly and carried by a 5-0 vote. 2 MINUTES PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY MEETING JULY 14, 2005 B. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO ENTER INTO RENEWAL CONTRACT FOR LANDSCAPING SERVICES AT THE HOUSING AUTHORITY PROPERTIES. Member Spiegel moved to, by Minute Motion: 1) That the Housing Authority authorize RPM Company to enter into a renewal contract for FY 2005/06, beginning July 1, 2005, with Liberty Landscaping, Riverside, California, in the aggregate amount of $23,868 per month ($286,416 annually) for routine landscaping services for nine Housing Authority Properties — funds have been appropriated in the FY 2005/06 Housing Authority Operating Budget under Contract Services; 2) authorize work that is outside the routine landscaping services noted in the proposal under "Additional Work" by Liberty Landscaping at the standard hourly rates stated in the proposal, plus materials.
