I. CALL TO ORDER - 3:00 P.M.
Chairman Tanner convened the meeting at 3:00 p.m.

Upon a motion by Spiegel, second by Hamik, and 5-0 vote of the Authority Board
(AYES: Benson, Hamik, Spiegel, Weber, and Tanner NOES: None), the Consent
Calendar was approved as presented.

VIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO USE H.D. SUPPLY FACILITIES
MAINTENANCE FOR PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR
THE PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY -OWNED RESIDENTIAL
RENTAL PROPERTIES, FISCAL YEAR 2014-2015, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $125,000.
Management Analyst Jessica Gonzales stated this request memorializes the
mechanisms already established for purchase of products and services for
the ongoing operations and activities of the Palm Desert Housing Authority
properties. This is a govemment contract vendor located in Palm Desert.
The Housing Commission reviewed the recommendation at its regular
meeting of April 9 and recommended approval.
Member Spiegel moved to, by Minute Motion, authorize: 1) Use of HD Supply
Facilities Maintenance for purchase of materials and supplies for the Palm Desert Housing
Authority -owned residential rental properties, pursuant to Section 3.32.110 of the Palm
Desert Municipal Code, for FY 2014-2015 in an amount not to exceed $125,000; 2) Palm
Desert Housing Authority's Executive Director or his designee to finalize any documents
necessary to effectuate the action taken herewith — monies have been included in the FY
2014-2015 proposed Palm Desert Housing Authority's Operating Budget, in the
appropriate Authority account. Motion was seconded by Weber and carried by a 5-0 vote
(AYES: Benson, Hamik, Spiegel, Weber, and Tanner NOES: None).

B. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO USE LOWE'S FOR PURCHASE OF
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR THE PALM DESERT HOUSING
AUTHORITY -OWNED RESIDENTIAL RENTAL PROPERTIES, FISCAL
YEAR 2014-2015, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $40,000.
Management Analyst Jessica Gonzales stated this request memorializes the
mechanisms already established for purchase of products and services for
the ongoing operations and activities of the Palm Desert Housing Authority
properties. She said it is a govemment contract and the vendor is located

review by the Executive Director, the amount for purchase at Lowe's was
increased to $40,000, given the vendor is located in Palm Desert.
Member Spiegel moved to, by Minute Motion: 1) Authorize use of Lowe's for
purchase of materials and supplies for the Palm Desert Housing Authority -owned
residential rental properties, pursuant to Section 3.32.110 of the Palm Desert Municipal
Code, for FY 2014-2015 in an amount not to exceed $40,000; 2) elect to participate with
The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN); 3) authorize the Palm Desert Housing
Authority's Executive Director or his designee to execute any documents necessary to
effectuate the action taken herewith — monies have been included in the FY 2014-2015
proposed Palm Desert Housing Authority's Operating Budget, in the appropriate Authority
account. Motion was seconded by Weber and carried by a 5-0 vote (AYES: Benson,
Hamik, Spiegel, Weber, and Tanner NOES: None).
C. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION TO USE THE HOME DEPOT U.S.A.,
INC., FOR PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR THE
PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY -OWNED RESIDENTIAL RENTAL
PROPERTIES, FISCAL YEAR 2014-2015, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $20,000.
Management Analyst Jessica Gonzales stated this is a govemment contract
vendor located in Rancho Mirage. In the event items are not found at Lowe's
or HD Supply, staff will source out to Home Depot. She said this contract
was decreased from $30,000 to $20,000.
Member Spiegel moved to, by Minute Motion, authorize: 1) Use of The Home Depot
U.S.A., Inc., for purchase of materials and supplies for the Palm Desert Housing
Authority -owned residential rental properties, pursuant to Section 3.32.110 of the Palm
Desert Municipal Code, for FY 2014-2015 in an amount not to exceed $20,000; 2) Palm
Desert Housing Authority's Executive Director or his designee to finalize any documents
necessary to effectuate the action taken herewith — monies have been included in the FY
2014-2015 proposed Palm Desert Housing Authority's Operating Budget, in the
appropriate Authority account. Motion was seconded by Weber and carried by a 5-0 vote
(AYES: Benson, Hamik, Spiegel, Weber, and Tanner, NOES: None).
