VIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION OF THE USE OF THE HOME DEPOT
U.S.A., INC., FOR PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR THE
PALM DESERT HOUSING AUTHORITY -OWNED RESIDENTIAL RENTAL
PROPERTIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015-2016 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $25,000 (CONTRACT NO. HA34420).
Responding to question, Ms. Moore explained that on the next agenda there
will be a contract for Lowes, one for appliances and one for supplies. To the
extent possible staff will always use Lowes, but there are things that Home
Depot carries that Lowes doesn't. Also, at times Home Depot has the item
in stock where Lowes can get the item, but it will take two or three days.
Member Spiegel moved to, by Minute Motion, authorize: 1) Use of The Home Depot
U.S.A., Inc., for purchase of materials and supplies for the Palm Desert Housing
Authority -owned Residential Rental Properties, pursuant to Section 3.32.110 of the Palm
Desert Municipal Code, for FY 2015-2016 in an amount not to exceed $25,000; 2) Palm
Desert Housing Authority's Executive Director, or his designee, to finalize any documents
necessary to effectuate the action taken herewith — monies have been included in the FY
2015-2016 proposed Palm Desert Housing Authority's Operating Budget in the appropriate
Authority Account. Motion was seconded by Jonathan and carried by a 5-0 vote (AYES:
Harnik, Jonathan, Spiegel, Tanner, and Weber; NOES: None).

YEAR 2015-2016 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $145,000
(CONTRACT NO. HA34430).
Ms. Moore said HD Supply is a little more industrial than Home Depot and
they do carry parts or fixtures regularly used, and to the extent possible, the
Palm Desert location is used.
Member Tanner moved to, by Minute Motion, authorize: 1) Use of HD Supply
Facilities Maintenance for purchase of materials, supplies, and installations for the Palm
Desert Housing Authority -owned Residential Rental Properties, pursuant to Section
