I. CALL TO ORDER
President Spiegel convened the meeting at 4:00 p.m.

With Foundation Board concurrence, President Spiegel suspended the agenda at this point in
order to conduct today's City Council Meeting Agenda Item XII, Awards, Presentations, and
Appointments. Please see that set of Minutes for discussion and action.

III. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. MINUTES of the Library Foundation Meeting of April 10, 1997.
Rec: Approve as presented.
Upon a motion by Vice President Crites, second by Member Kelly, and unanimous vote of the
Foundation Board, the Consent Calendar was approved as presented.
IV. CONSENT ITEMS HELD OVER

V. RESOLUTIONS

VI. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF LIBRARY FOUNDATION BUDGET FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1999/2000.
Vice President Crites moved to, by Minute Motion, approve the Library Foundation Budget for
FY 1999/2000, as proposed by the Library Promotion Committee and totaling $23,400: 1) Computer
tables, chairs, and PC Software for the Library's Youth Section, $3,500 (Desert Sands Unified School
District will be donating five personal computers for the Youth Section); 2) PC Projector and Cart,
$4,000; 3) Receipt Printers, $2,000; 4) Juvenile Books and Educational Videos, $5,000; 5) Sculpture for
Courtyard (Toad with Crown from last year's El Paseo Exhibition), $8,900. Motion was seconded by
Member Kelly and carried by unanimous vote.

Upon a motion by Vice President Crites, second by Member Ferguson, and unanimous vote of the
Library Foundation Board, President Spiegel adjourned the meeting at 5:48 p.m.
