CASE N0. INTERIM CORE AREA PLAN - AP ZENDMENT - 02-74 Wf iEREAS, the Planning Commission, on the 14th day of October, 1974, held a duly noticed public hearing to consider an amendment to the Palm Desert Interim Core Area Plan filed by H. A. McCORMICK ahich would delete the covered pedestrian walkway shown on the plan on property generally located on the north side of El Paseo between Portola Avenue and San Luis Rey. Then said Planning Commission, by its Resolution No. 15, did recommend that approval of such amendment, and; WHEREAS, the City Council, on the 14th day of November, 1974, held a duly noticed public hearing and considering the testimony and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said City Council did find the following facts and reasons to exist to support the approval of the Interim Core Area Plan amendment: l. The proposed amendment does insure the protection of the public health, safety, and general welfare. 2. Compatibility of the proposed amendment to the exist- ing and proposed development in the area. 3. The circulation improvements recommended in the plan can be achieved by the existing walkway located two lots east and the proposed pedestrian passageway included in the plans for the new City Plational Bank project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: I. That the above recitations are true and correct and con- stitute the findings of the Council in this case. RESOLUTION N0. 74-10.2 II. That said City Council does hereby approve the requested Interim Core Area Plan Amendment to delete the proposed pedes- trian walkway for the reasons set out in this Resolution, in accordance with the Planning Commission Resolution No. 15 and Staff conditions. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, held on the 14th day of November 1974, by the following vote: AYES: Aston; Benson; Brush; McPherson; Clark iJOES : Non e ABSENT: None ATTEST: /� .
