iHEREAS. an Agree ent h s been Aeveloped Detween the City and
the Redevelop ent Agency whlch provides for the Ctty to complete artain
speclftc proJects for the Redevelop ent Agency; and
I IEREAS, the Agency agrees to reiaburse the City for their cost to
proride for these speclflc projects; and
WEREAS. it has been detenained by both the City and the Agency that
the projects 1f coaipleLed will be a futherance of the Redevelopment Goals
and Objectires as specified in the Redevelopnent Plan.
NOM. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLYEO by the City Council of the City of
Palm Desert, California, that it does herebr approve the attached Agreement
anA authorizes the Mayor to execute.

MITNESSETH:
NHEREAS. the C1ty and Agency have oo-operatively adopted a Redevelopment
Pian for Projett Area No. 1 in the City of Paim Desert, (the MPlan"), pursuant
to Ordinance No. 53 of the City; and
WHEREAS. the City and Agency have heretofore entered into an "Agreeme�t
for Co-operation", which provides, lnterialia, that Agency and City shall co-
operate in inplenienting the Plan that City may make loans and advanoes to the
Agency fo� purposes of iniplementing the accomplishment of the redevelopment ob-
jectives set fo�th in the Pla�; and
WHEREAS. the City and A9ency have dete►mined that the hereinafter described
projects. and the expenditures provided for therefore, are in furtherance of the
redevelopment goals and ob,�ectives set forth in the Plan, and more particularly
the blighting charactertstits of defective and inadeQuate cirtulation and drainage
withSn portions of the project area Gescribed in said Plan:
NOH, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES NERETO AGREE AS FOLIOMS:
SECTION 1: CIT1' TO COMSTRUCT AP10 PROVIDE ON BEHA�F Of AGENCIf
Prio� to January 1. 1978, City agrees to construct, acquire, improve, or
provide, the folloain9 services and facilities on behaif of Agency.
A• SAN PABLO EXTENSION. To acquire the rig�t-of-way for and fully
construct to all applicabie City, State. and Federal Standards, an extension of
San Pablo Avenue betaeen South Pal� Desert Orive and E1 Paseo, which construction
shall confona to engineering specifications previously developed by Agencr.
B• MID-BLOCK PARKING ACCESS. To acquire for pu�poses of providing
�id-btock parking acoess to adjacent properties, that certain real property
hereinafter described as the easterly t�enty feet of Lot 7 of Block 5, Palm
Desert Unit No. 1.

Erawtngs. or any of the foregoing. as shall be necessary, in o�der to establish
derelopment. and inplenientation and prograa�s, for the areas within the project
area. whirh standards. plans and specifications and draMings, shall specifically
be directed to correcting existing and prev�nting future deficie�cies in parking,
circulation� drainage and access, to and through the commercial areas withi� the
project area. particularly as they relate to Highway 111, and Nhich shall further
provide for design standards which shall arrest and prevent any future blighting
influences Nithin the conniercial settions of the project ar�ea.
SECTION 2: MAXIhUM EXPEMDITURES Blf CIT1f.
Mithout further approval of Agency. City shall be authorized to expend
for the projects described in paragraph 1 hereof, the follow�ing amounts:
A. SIW PABLO EXTENSION. S40.000
B. MID-BLOCK PARKING ACCESS. 515,000
C. HIGHWAY 111 CIRCUlATIOH ANO ENGIMEERIN6 P�ANS. 538,000
0. DEVELOPMENT OF STANpARDS AND IMPLEMENTATION 565,000

City may expend such sums on behalf of Agency either directly or through
consultants, engineers o� contractors, if the City deems such services necessary
in orde� to accouiplish its obligations described in paragraph 1 hereof. In no
event shall City exceed the expenditure limits set forth in this paragraph 2
without the prior Mritten concurrence of Agency. Further, City shall not be
obifgated to expend any anpunts described in paragraph 2 unless it receives
assurances in rrt-itiny fro�a Agency that City, within ninety days after making
such expenditures on behalf of Agency, w111 be reinibursed by Agency for the
su�a so expended. Nothing herei� shall prevent the City from proceedi�g with
�e projects. desc�ibed herein, at its sole dlscretion. in the absence of being
