Home My WebLink AboutCC RES 78-127RESOLUTION N0. 78- 127 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALh7 DESERT, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AN ADVANCE TO CITY FUNDS TO ACCOn'IPLISH THE UNDER- GROUNDING OF UTILITY SERVICES IN UNDERGROUND- ING DISTRICT N0. 5. �NHEREAS, by Resolution No. ?7-52 adopted on blay 12, 1977, the City Council did establish Underground District No. 5 and did order the underground installation of utility service within said district; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to pay the Southern California Edison Company the sum of sixty-seven thousand, four hundred, thirteen dollars and thirty-eight cents ($67,413.38) for the cost of such under- grounding pending the levy and collection of assessments from the bene- fitting properties; and, - ��HEREAS, the Council has previously agreed to participate in this district to the extent of eleven thousand, six hundred, sixty-six dollars and thirty-eight cents ($11,666.38). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, hereby finds and determines as follows: 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the City and the Southern California Edison Company to require the work to be done. 2. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to pay the sum of $67,413.38 to the Southern California Edison Company for the cost of said undergrounding from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund. 3. Said payment shall be treated as an advance to the Special Assessment Fund Underground Utility District #5 and shall be repaid to the fund balance of the General Fund upon collection of assessment to be levied upon the completion of the work ordered.
