OF PALM pFSERT, CALIFOR�dIA, AMENDING THE
1978J79 BUDGFT AND AUT{10RIZI^IG ADV�NCES IN
CO��IPJECTIO^! 1�JITH THE P10NTFREY WAS11 RFSTORATIOPJ
PROJECT.
IdHERFAS, the Cities of Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage are ,iointly
bearing the cost and sharing in State and Federal Grants for the restoration
of flood damage on Monterey Road at the !•Jhitewater lJash, and;
f�1FiFREAS, it is estimated that the City's share of thP cost is
aoproximatelY $43,000 which is areater than the unobli�ated balance of the
appropriation now provided, and;
IJHEREAS, it is necessary for each City to advance the sum of the
State and Federal Grants pending audit and receipt of said Grants;
NOLJ, THFREFORE �E IT RESOLVEO by the City Council of the City of
�alm Desert, California, that:
1. The Budget for 1978/79 is hereby amended as follows:
A. The appropriation for "Reconstruction of P�1onterey from
Parkview northerly (Account 30-4990-906) is hereb.y
reduced from �?_30,000 to �221,000;
B. The appropriation for "Monterey-Repair of Storm Damaqe

at the lJhitewater ldash" (Account 30-4990-907) is hereby
increased from �40,000 to �46,500.
2. To provide temporarily for the City's share of the State and
Federal Grants anticipated to be received in connection t�ith
the Whitewater ��ash restoration, the Director of Finance is
authorized and directed to advance such sums as may be needed,
not in excess of $30,000, from the Unobligated Fund Balance of
the General Fund.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the City Council of the Citv of
