A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAL?1 DESERT,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING A LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, this City Council does hereby find:
1. That due to flooding in the City of Palm Desert, the
City is facing unmanageable problems; and
2. That due to the flooding problems, a condition of
extreme peril to life and property necessitates
the declaration of the existence of an emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND DECLARED by the City Council of the
City of Palm Desert, State of California, in special session assembled on
January 19, 1978, that an emergency now exists throughout the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said
emergency, powers, functions and duties of the City Manager and the emergency
organization of the City of Palm Desert shall be those prescribed by State law
and the ordinances, resolutions and approved plans of the City of Palm Desert
in order to mitigate the effects of said emergency.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED on this 19th day of January 1978,
by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, by the following vote,
to wit:

NOES: None
ABSENT: Brush & McPherson
ABSTAIN: None
