A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0
PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RELATIVE TO OVERTIME,
BI-ANNUAL PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS, SERVICE CLUB
MEMBERSHIPS AND MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert is authorized
and directed under the provisions of Ordinance No. 176, establishing Personnel
System Rules and Regulations of the City of Palm Desert, to name certain positions
which are exempt from overtime provisions, certain positions which require bi-
annual physical examinations, the number of service club memberships allowed for
reimbursement for the cost of initiation fees, annual dues and dues-related costs
and mileage reimbursement rate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm
Desert, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. EXEMPT PERSONNEL, GROUP A. The following positions, requir-
ing attendance at numerous extra-hour meetings and conferences are hereby designa-
ted Exempt Personnel, Group A, and are exempt from overtime provisions as set
forth in Ordinance No. 176:
City Manager
Director/Environmental Services
Assistant to the City Manager
Associate Planner
Director of Public Works
SECTION 2. EXEMPT PERSONNEL, GROUP B. The following positions, requir-
ing attendance at occasional extra-hour meetings and conferences, are hereby designa-
ted Exempt Personnel, Group B, and are exempt from overtime provisions as set forth
in Ordinance No. 176:
City Clerk
Director/Building and Safety
Director/Management Services
Principal Building Inspector
Code Enforcement Supervisor
Administrative Assistant
Assistant Planner
SECTION 3. BI-ANNUAL PHYSICALS FOR EXECUTIVES. Personnel in the follow-
ing classified positions shall be required to have a bi-annual physical as set forth
in Ordinance No. 176:
City Manager
Assistant to the City Manager
City Clerk
Director/Environmental Services
Director/Building and Safety
Director/Management Services
Director/Public Works

XþSECTION 4. SERVICE CLUB REIMBURSEMENT. The following groups of
departments or divisions may budget a maximum of two 2) service club member-
ships per group as set forth in Ordinance No. 176:
City Manager/City Clerk
Environmental Services
Building and Safety
Management Services/Code Enforcement
Public Works
SECTION 5. MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT. The mileage reimbursement rate to
employees required to use their car on City business shall be 16~ per mile. In
the case of employees who receive a monthly car allowance, said mileage reimburse-
ment shall be made only for that portion of trips which extend beyond a 25 mile
radius of the Palm Desert City Hall.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED on this 26th day of January
1978, by the following vote, to wit:
