HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 78-007RESOLUTION N0. 78-7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COU�QCIL �F THE CITY OF PALt�1 DESERT, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING VOTING PRECINCTS FOR THE P1ARCH 7, 1978, GENERAL ��UiJICIPAL ELECTION, AND APPOINTING OFFICERS OF ELECTION FOR SAME. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General Law Cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal election will be held on the 7th day of P1arch, 1978, for the election of three m3mbers of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years. NOLJ, THEREFORE, 6E IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: SECTION l: That for the purpose of holding said regular general municipal election, there shall be and are hereby established seven (7) voting precincts con- sisting of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the City of Palm Desert established for the holding of state and county elections, as said regular election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this resolution. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter desig- nated, and that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors and residents of said City and of th�ir respective voting precincts, are hereby appointed officers of election for their respective voting precincts and they shall nold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by 1 aw . Kinyoun Chester Lavin Luci 11 e Ne��man 0 SECTION 2: That the compensation of the persons hereinbefore named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of Twenty-Nine Dollars ($29.00) for each Inspector and Twenty-Five Dollars (�25.00) for each Judge and Clerk for said election. Tfie rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is made, shall be the sum of Fifteen Dollars (�15.00) for said election. !�Jhen required, the compensation of the Custodian of a building shall be Ten Dollars (a10.00) for said election. SECTION 3: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of the Resolution; shall enter the same in the book or original Resolu- tions of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. -2- %% -- '' ) k� / RESOLUTION N0. --�6-�4� (Continued) SECTION 4: That this �esolution shall take effect immediately.
