A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PALM
DESERT AND MARTIN J. BOUMAN FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AS
CITY MANAGER.
WHEREAS, an Agreement providing for the professional services of the
City Manager is necessary and desirable so that both the City and the City
Manager may be fully cognizant of the rules, conditions, and legal provi-
sions under which the City Manager serves.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED t�at the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to sign an agreement with City Manager Martin J. Bouman, said
Agreement, labeled Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED on this 9th day of July ,
1981, by the following vote, to wit:

RESOLUTION N0. 81-103
AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES OF CITY MANAGER
THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 9th day of July �
1981, by and between the CITY OF PALM DESERT, a municipal corporation, herein-
after referred to as "CITY", and MARTIN J. BOUMAN, hereinafter referred to
as "CITY MANAGER".
1. The CITY does hereby engage CITY MANAGER and CITY MANAGER hereby
agrees to perform all duties and abide by all provisions of Chapter 2.04 of
the Palm Desert Municipal Code for a monthly salary, the amount of which
shall be determined by the City Council each year by separate action.
2. In addition to those duties set forth in Chapter 2.04 of the
Palm Desert Municipal Code, CITY MANAGER hereby agrees to serve as Executive
Director of the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency, without added compensation
or benefits.
3. CITY MANAGER shall be reimbursed for all actual and necessary
expenses incurred by him in the performance of his official duties, including
expenses incurred when traveling on business pertaining to the City.
4. Each party hereto shall be bound by and abide in full with all
provisions of Chapter 2.04 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code as it exists
as of the date of this Agreement.
5. The COUNCIL may terminate the CITY MANAGER pursuant to the pro-
visions of Chapter 2.04 and the CITY MANAGER may resign his position at
his discretion.
6. In the event that COUNCIL, pursuant to relevant provisions of ;� �

Chapter 2.04 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code, votes to remove CITY MANAGER

from office, the CITY MANAGER may, at his option, negotiate with the COUNCIL ' �
to reinstate him to his previous position as Executive Director of the Palm �
Desert Redevelopment Agency.
