Home My WebLink AboutCC RES 81-023� RESOLUTION N0. 81-23 A RESOLUTION QF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE FOR FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES. WHEREAS, there is need for cooperative action between the City of Palm Desert and the County of Riverside in providing fire protection; and � WHEREAS, enhancement of such fire protection was mandated by the citizens of Palm Desert through the ballot passage of a special fire tax; and WHEREAS, such enhancement and augmentation can now take place due to the availability of a Snorkel Fire Truck and construction of a new fire station; and WHEREAS, a cooperative agreement is necessary to implement the addi- tional protection desired, and in concept, was approved by the City Council through Resolution No. 81-12. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager and Mayor are hereby authorized to sign a cooperative agreement with the County of Riverside relative to fire protection services. Said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A".
