HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 82-094RESOLUTIO� N0. 82-94 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING THE CONCEPT OF A TRI-CITIES POLICE STUDY. '' WHEREAS, the Cities of Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells have successfully mobilized and implemented upgraded fire protection through a Cove Communities Fire Commission; and WHEREAS, the three cities have informally discussed the desirability of increasing and upgrading local law enforcement activities; and WHEREAS, the most logical method of investigating the alternatives for such upgrading is via an objective study to be performed by an independent outside consultant, under the direction of the Cove Communities Fire Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Palm Desert hereby endorses the concept of such an independent study to be funded through an equal one-third share by each city, and further, that the City Managers of the three cities be designated as a staff team to develop the specifications (Scope of Services) for such a study and to coordinate and cooperate with the Cove Communities Fire Commission to bring such effort to a point where a consultant selection process can take place, a study cost arrived at, and a funding recommendation be made to the City Councils of the three participating cities.
