A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
TO CONSOLIDATE THE UNOBLIGATED FUND BALANCES OF EXISTING
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT RESERVE FUNDS INTO A LIMITED NUMBER OF
CAPITAL PROJECTS RESERVE FUNDS.
WHEREAS, past practices have resulted in a large number of Capital
Improvement Reserve Funds with relatively small residual balances for
completed projects; and
WHEREAS, the balances of certain Capital Improvement Reserve Funds
will not be needed for the purpose originally determined; and
WHEREAS, more efficient budgetary control can be obtained by limiting
the number of Capital Projects Reserve Funds to the minimum legally required
as prescribed by the original sources of the reserve.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Palm Desert, California,
that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to transfer the
Unobligated Fund Balances of existing Capital Improvement Reserve Funds as of
the close of business on June 30, 1983 to consolidated Capital Projects Reserve
Funds as follows:
1. To a Capital Reserve Fund: "Streets",
From: Fund 31 "San Pablo Improvement";
Fund 32 "Waring Drive Improvement";
Fund 33 "E1 Paseo Median";
Fund 35 "ROW Monterey-Hovely";
Fund 36 "ROW Portola-Frontage";
Fund 38 "Highway 111 Beautification"; and
Fund 43 "Tie-in Paving-District 81-1".
2. To a Capital Reserve Fund: "Drainage",
From: Fund 40 "Waring Drain";
Fund 41 "Edgehill Pitahaya Drain";
Fund 42 "Ironwood Park Drain";
Fund 44 "San Pascual Channel";
Fund 54 "Monterey Bridge"; and
Fund 55 "Homestead Drain".
3. To a Capital Reserve Fund: "Parks and Recreation",
From: Fund 48 "Marrakesh Park";
Fund 49 "Pave Community Park Parking Lot";
Fund 50 "Sports Center";
Fund 51 "Mayer Park"; and
Fund 56�"Ironwood Park".
4. To a Capital Reserve Fund: "Traffic Signals",
From: Fund 45 "Signal-Monterey & Parkview";
Fund 46 "Signal-E1 Paseo & Highway 111"; and
Fund 47 "Signal-San Luis Rey & Highway 111".

5. To a Capital Reserve Fund: "Public Structures - Other",
From: Fund 30 "Civic Center Construction".
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert
