J A RESOLUTIO� OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 83-59 BY CHANGING ONE CLASSIFIED POSITION TITLE AND SALARY RANGE, DESIGNATING BIENNIAL PHYSICALS FOR EXECUTIVES, AND ESTABLISHING A PILOT INCENTIVE PROGRAM TO REWARD EMPLOYEES FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE. WHEREAS, it is desirable for the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California to amend Resolution no. 83-59, adopted on June 23, 1983. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, that: l. Resolution No. 83-59, Section 1, Table of Salary Ranges for Classifications and Positions is hereby amendec3 by chang- ing the following classified position title and salary range, effect- ive February 23, 1984: CLASSIFIED POSITION TITLE Graphics Artist Z. BIENNIAL PHYSICALS FOR EXECUTIVES :� In accordance with Personnel Ordinance No. 176, Section 9-D, the following biennial medical examinations will be required. TEMPORARY SICK LEAVE MERIT PROGRAM As an inventive to reduce sick leave, the following "pilot" program is to remain in effect through calendar year 1984 and will be reviewed and re-evaluated by City I�anagement and the Palm Desert Employee's Association prior to November 30, 1984. Sick leave credits will continue to accrue at the � rate of 8.00 hours for each month of continuous service for a maximum of 96.00 hours per calendar year. Sick leave used during the year will be charged against the employee's current year's sick leave earn- ings. At the end of the calendar period the City will determine the amount of unused sick leave for each employee. Thereupon, each eligible employee must carry-over to a sick leave "bank" a minimum of 72.00 hours, if available, and may request cash payment for any hours SALARY RANGE � 0 above 72.00, (Maximum 24.00 hours) or may add it to the sick leave bank. Sick leave used will include Family Illness Leave, Bereavement Leave, and Maternity Leave, if charged a�ainst sick leave credits. For the purpose of this "pilot"payment pro�ram, the calendar period used for computai;ion is as follows: �-. December 1, 1983 throu�h November 30, 1984 - 12 months Eligible employees, for the 12 month calendar period, December 1, 1983 through November 30, 1984, are defined as all re�ular employees with the exception of the following exempt personnel who ; are not eli�ible.
