A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, DENY[NG AN APPEAL BY
MED I A PRODUCTS DBA GRANT BC�OK WAREHOUyE ��F A
DECISION OF, THE ARCHITECTURAL COMM[SSION DENYING
A REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF A BUSINESS
IDENTIFICATION SIGN.
CASE N0. 1377 SA
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, did on
the lOth day of December, 1987, hold a public meeting to consider an appeal by
Media Products dba Grant Book Warehouse to the decision of the architectural
commission denyi�g a request for approval of a business identification sign;
and
WHEREAS, the Architecturai Commission by its resolution denied the
request for reasons specified therein; and
WHEREAS, said application has complied with the requirements of the "City
of Palm Desert Procedure for Implementation of the California Environmental
Quality Act, Resolution No. 80-89," in that the director of cortmunity
development has determined that the project is a class 3 categorical exemption;
and
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all
testimony and arguments, if any. of all interested persons desiring to be
heard, said city council did find the following facts and reasons to exist to
justify denial of said appeal:
1. The proposed sign does not comply with zoning ordinance section
25.68 sign criteria.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESO�VED by the City Council of the City of Palm
Desert, as follows:
l. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the
findings of the council in this case;
2. That the appeal to the decision of the architectural cortmission in
the matter of Case No. 1377 SA is denied for reasons delineated
above.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert City
Council. held on this lOth day of December, 1987, by the following vote.
