A RESOLUT 1 ON OF THE C I TY COUNC I L OF Tt{E C I TY OF
PALM DESERT. CAL[FORNIA, ANNEXING CERTAIN
CONTIGUOUS TERR[TORY TO SAID CITY UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF THE CORTESE/KNOX LOCAL GOVERNMENT
REORGANIZATION ACT OF t985. WHICH PROCEEDINGS
ARE DES[GNATED AS PALM DESERT ANNEXATION N0. 21
LAFCO N0. 87-07-4.
WHEREAS. on November 13, 1987, the City Council did adopt Resolution No.
86-117 initiating annexation proceedings for Annexation No. 2l; and
WHEREAS. the Local Agency Formation Commission r�eld a public r�earing
relative to Annexation No. 21 on May 28, 1987. and approved said annexation
with the determination that the City Council of tt�e City of Palm Desert be
autf�orized to proceed without notice and hearing; and
WHEREAS. the proposed annexation represents a logical extension of the
City of Palm Desert's boundaries and will not be taxed for existing general
bonded indebtedness by tF�e City of Palm Desert. and the regular Riverside
County assessment roll shall be utilized in the fiuture.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE 1T RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm
Desert. California, as follows:
1. That tr�e territory described in Exhibits "A" and "B" attached
hereto and made a part hereof t�y reference. be and the same is hereby� by this
resolution annexed to ttie City of Palm Uesert.
2. That the city clerk is f�ereby instructed and dir�ected to transmit
seven (7) certified copies of this resolution to LAFCO alonq with any other
required submittals.

PROVISIONS OF THE CORTESE/KNOX LOCAL GOVERNMENT
REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1985. WHICH PROCEEDINGS
ARE DESIGNATED AS PALM DESERT [ANNEXATION NO. 2177
LAFCO NO. 87-07-4.
WHEREAS, on November 13, 1986, the City Council did adopt Resolution No.
86-117 initiating annexation proceedings for Annexation No. 21: and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission held a public hearing
relative to Annexation No. 21 on May 28. 1987, and approved said annexation
with the determination that the City Council of the City of Palm Desert be
authorized to proceed without notice and hearing: and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation represents a logical extension of the
City of Palm Desert's boundaries and will not be taxed for existing general
bonded indebtedness by the City of Palm Desert, and the regular Riverside
County assessment roil shall be utilized in the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm
Desert, California, as follows:
1. That the territory described in Exhibits "A" and "B" attached
hereto and made a part hereof by reference, be and the same is hereby, by this
resolution annexed to the City of Palm Desert.
2. That the city clerk is hereby instructed and directed to transmit
seven (7) certified copies of this resolution to LAFCO alonq with any other
required submittals.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED at a reaular meeting of the Palm Desert
City Council, held on this 25th day of June.. 1987, by the following vote. to
wit:

PALM DESERT RELATING TO ANNEXATIONS TO

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervises of the County
7
of Riverside, State of California, in regular session assembled on
8
October 13, 1981, that:

1. The County of .Riverside and the City of Palm Desert
10
are the agencies whose area or responsibility for service would be
11
affected by annexations to the City of Palm Desert.

2. Representatives of each of the affected agencies have
13
met and negotiated an exchange of property tax revenue to become
14
effective for tax purposes beginning July 1, 1981, for all areas.
15
annexed to the City until such time as this Resolution is rescinded

or superseded, as follows:

a. The City of Palm Desert shall assume the responsi-

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING THE
AMOUNT OF PROPERTY TAX REVENUE TO BE EXCHANGED
BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE AND THE CITY
OF PALM DESERT "ELATING TO ANNEXATIONS TO THE
CITY OF PALM Di .Ri, CLAIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm
Desert in regular session assembled on this 24th day of Sept.
1981, that:
1. The County of Riverside and the City of Palm Desert
are the agencies whose area or responsibility for service
would be affected by annexations to the City of Palm Desert.
2. Representatives of each of the affected agencies have
met and negotiated an exchange of property tax revenue as follows,
to become effective for tax purposes beginning July 1, 1981,
for all areas annexed to the City until such time as this
resolution is rescinded or superceded.
A. The City of Palm Desert shall assume responsibility
for all general municipal services to areas annexed as are
required by law or presently provided throughout the City, and
for such service, the City shall receive 25% of that portion
of the property tax revenue generated within territories annexed
under the ad valorem tax rate established by Article XIII A of
the Constitution of the State of California, that represents
the County of Riverside's share of such property tax revenue.
B. The County Auditor shall upon annexation by the City
convert the above -established percentage figure into actual
dollar figures and thereafter allocate to the City such property
tax revenue in accord with the provisions of Section 95 et. seq.
of the Revenue and Taxation Code.
3. The City Council of the City of Palm Desert does hereby
agree to the above -recited exchange of property tax revenue.
4. The Clerk shall transmit a certified copy of this
resolution to each affected agency and to the Executive Office
of the Local Agency Formation Commission and to the Auditor of
the County of Riverside pursuant to Section 99 of the Revenue
and Taxation Code,
