, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT,
CALIFORNIA, SETTING PRIORITIES FOR FILING NRITTEN ARGUMENTS
REGARDING A CITY MEASURE AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO
PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS.
WHEREAS. a Special Municipal �Election is to be held in the
City of Palm Desert, California, on November 8, 1988, at which
there will be submitted to the voters the following measure:
MEASURE �1:
Shall Ordinance No. 547 of the City
of Palm Desert, California, be approved YES:
increasing the transieni occupancy tax in
said City from 6X to 8x, and if approved,
authorize the increase in the appropriations
limit for the City of Palm Desert for fiscal
years ending 1989 through 1992, with the
base year for 1988/89 appropriations limit
to be increased to $25,000,000. N0:
MOW, THFREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the C i ty Counc i 1 of the
City of Palm Des,ert, California, as follows:
� SECTION 1. That the City Council authorizes
Buford A. Crites (Councilmember in Favor)
Richard S. Kelly (Counciimember in Favor)
Walter H. Snyder (Councilmember in Favor}
Jean M. Benson (Councilmember in Favor)
and
S. Roy Wilson (Councilmember Against)
to file written arguments regarding the City measures as
specified above in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division
5 of the Elections Code of the State of California, and to �hange

SECTION 2. That the City Council directs the City Clerk to
transmit a copy of the measure to the City Attorney, unless the
organization or salaries of the office of the City Attorney are
affected. The City Attorney shall prepare an impartial analysis
of the measure showing the effect of the measure on the existing
law and the operation of the measure. If the measure affects the
organization or salaries of the office of the City Attorney, the
City Clerk shall prepare the impartial analysis. The impartial
analysis shaii be filed by the date set by the City Cierk for the
filing of primary arguments.

SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adopt i on o� th i s resol ut i on and enter i t i nto the book of
original resolutions.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Palm Desert, California, at its regular meeting held on the
llth day of Au ust, 1988, by the following vote, to wit:
