Wf�tE',AS, the City of Palm Desert, California, has undertaken a project referred to as assessment district 87-1, and W�, said piroject is generally described as the installation of curbs, guttexs, se�w�ex lines, and storm drain imprr�vements in the Palma Village area, and WE�ftF,AS, said project is generally limited by the boundaries of the Palma Village Specific Plan and specifically identified by the map attached hereto as �chibit "A", and WE�RE'AS, after oca�letion of an initial study attached hereto as �hibit "B", it was det.e.rn�ined that the project would rx�t have a significant adv�erse impact on the erYvirorn�ent, and WF�RF'�AS, the project w�uld have the follawing positive impacts ari tho envirormerit : 1. The charuzeling of stoYm and nuisance waters in an efficient maruler to planned conveyance facilities thus protecting property and benefiting the health, safety and general welfare of the project area. 2. A rise in the general prvpPxty values of the project area, as has occurred in other sectians of Palm Desert when similar facilities hav�e beesz installed. 3. A clearer delineation of street parkuzg areas by the installation of cuz'bs ar�d gutters . 4. The facilitation of street maintenance and sweeping by the installati� of curbs and gutters. 5. Protection of the undergro�uzd water table through the installation of sewers.
