HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 89-052RESOLUTION N0. 89-52 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALN DESERT EXPRESS[NG THE SUPPORT FOR THE RIVERSIDE COUNTY'S HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE ACQUISITION OF THE INDIAN SPRINGS MOBILE HOME PARK WHEREAS, there is a shortage of low and moderate income housing Sn the City of Pa1m Desert, and, WHEREAS, the elderly populatfon of the City of Palm Desert ("the City") is known to be particularly vulnerable to the hardships that result from the shortage of low and moderate income housing, and WHEREAS, the City of Palm Desert has previously entered into a Cooperation Agreement with the Housing Authority of the County of Riverside ("Housing Authority"), dated September 8, 1988, authorizfng the Housing Authority to acquire, own and operate housing developments located within the boundaries of the City and, WNEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Palm Desert has previously entered into an Agreement for Pledge of Redevelopment Agency Low and Moderate Income Housing Funds with the Housing Authority, dated September 8, 1988, thereby expres s i ng the support of the C i ty of Pa 1 m Desert for the proposed acquisltion by the Housing Authority of Rlverside of the Indian 5prings Ltd. Mobile Home Park ("the Project"), a mobile home park in whtch the majority of the residents are senlor cttizens, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City of Palm Desert reaffirms and expresses its support for the proposed project.
