HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 95-105RESOLUTION NO. 95-105 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING NEW LOCAL GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTING THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT WHEREAS, the California Legislature has amended the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") and the California courts have interpreted specific provisions of CEQA; and WHEREAS, CEQA requires all public agencies to adopt objectives, criteria and procedures for the evaluation of public and private projects undertaken or approved by such public agencies, and the preparation, if required, of environmental impact reports in connection with that evaluation; and WHEREAS, the City of Palm Desert must revise its local guidelines for implementing CEQA to make them consistent with the current provisions and interpretations of CEQA; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, that the City of Palm Desert, California, hereby adopts "Local Guidelines for Implementing the California Environmental Quality Act (1995 Revision)," a copy of which is on file at the offices of the City of Palm Desert and is available for inspection by the public. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, that the CEQA guidelines hereby adopted shall supersede any other CEQA guidelines previously adopted by the City. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, on the 9th day of November 1995, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BENSON, KELLY, SNYDER, SPIEGEL, CRITES NOES: NONE ABSENT : NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ATTEST: SHEILA R.,GrfLIGAN, CITY dLERK CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNI BUFORD;CRITES, MAYOR
