HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 95-0115(0- 04k, RESOLUTION NO. 95-11 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA SUPPORTING THE HEALTHY CITIES CONCEPT AND INDICATING THE INTENT TO CONTINUE PARTICIPATION. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, has placed a high priority on improving the quality of life for all citizens of the City; and WHEREAS, such an effort must be broad in scope to include all aspects of the environment; and WHEREAS, success will depend on coordinated efforts of both the public and private sectors; and WHEREAS, new programs with proven success in other locations should be considered for their applicability to the situation in the City of Palm Desert. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Palm Desert supports the California Healthy Cities concept as a means of integrating health concerns into a broad approach to improving the overall environment in the City and intends to continue in the project as established by the State of California Department of Health Services. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City will continue and further develop a program to address specific health needs and coordinate the implementation of that program with affected community agencies. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert City Council held on this 23rd day of February, 1995, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BENSON, KELLY, SNYDER,SPIEGEL, CRITES NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE SHEILA GIL , CITYJ ERK CITY OF PA DESER
