CITY OF PALM DESERT QQ ` y, INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM a K m pa 1 TO: City Council and City Manager = rGO FROM: Richard J. Folkers, ACM/Public Works Director • SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CERTAIN REAL P' r P R INTO THE CITY STREET SYSTEM DATE: July 9, 1998 m 0 RECOMMENDATION: 2 By minute motion, approve Resolution No.98-80 accepting Lot E of Tract 2012 into the City street system. BACKGROUND: Tract 2012, located on the south side of Highway 111 between Portola Avenue and El Paseo, was approved by the County of Riverside in June 1960. The map offered for dedication various letter lots for public street purposes (Lot A, Frontage Road; Lot B and Lot C, El Paseo; Lot D, Portola Avenue; and Lot E, alley). All of those lots offered for dedication, except Lot E, were accepted by the County. As mentioned, Lot E is the alley which runs east/west from Portola Avenue to El Paseo and is at the rear of the individual lots. Since Lot E was not accepted, its ownership remains unclear. City forces have performed minor maintenance activity on the alley; however, in order to bring the roadway into a satisfactory condition, it will be necessary to accept the lot into the City street system. The attached resolution enables that action to occur. Therefore, staff recommends that the attached resolution be adopted accepting Lot E of Tract 2012 in the City street system. 0 c 6 RIC ARD J.
