HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 01-115RESOLUTION NO. 01- 115 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTIONS 85-121 (CIVIC ARTS COMMITTEE); 330 (CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR PROJECT AREA NO. 4); 97-77 (PROMOTION COMMITTEE); 99-112 (SISTER CITIES SUBCOMMITTEE); 01-2 (LIBRARY PROMOTION COMMITTEE), ORDINANCES 861 (HOUSING COMMISSION); 875 (PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION); 900 (ART -IN -PUBLIC PLACES COMMISSION); 935 (TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE); AND BY-LAWS OF THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION RELATIVE TO MEETING SCHEDULES WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolutions 85-121 (Civic Arts Committee - 1 1 /14/85); 330 (Citizens Advisory Committee For Project Area No. 4 - 9/12/96); 97- 77 (Promotion Committee - 9/1 1 /97; 99-1 12 (Sister Cities Subcommittee - 12/9/99); 01-2 (Library Promotion Committee - 1 /1 1 /01), Ordinances 861 (Housing Commission - 1/8/98); 875 (Public Safety Commission - 6/1 1 /98); 900 (Art -In -Public Places Commission - 12/10/98); 935 (Technology Committee - 2/24/00), and By-law of the Parks & Recreation Commission (7/31/00); and WHEREAS, the above named Resolutions, Ordinances, and By-laws specify a meeting schedule which must be adhered to and requires that the meetings be agendized, posted, and conducted in keeping with the provisions of the Brown Act; and WHEREAS, an amendment of previously established meeting schedules will permit more flexibility, productivity, and efficiency in preparing and administering agendas, meeting conduct and attendance, and discussion and/or action on substantive matters before these various bodies as established by the City Council; and WHEREAS, adoption of this Resolution would dictate that the Art -In -Public Places Commission, Civic Arts Committee, Library Promotion Committee, Project Area Four Advisory Committee, Promotion Committee, Public Safety Commission, Sister Cities Subcommittee, and Technology Committee would meet bi-monthly; and WHEREAS, adoption of this Resolution would dictate that the Parks & Recreation Commission would meet monthly; and WHEREAS, adoption of this Resolution would dictate that the Housing Commission and Investment Committee meet as needed. RESOLUTION NO. 01- 115 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, that the aforementioned Resolutions, Ordinances, and By-laws be amended to reflect a newly established meeting schedule. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, that upon adoption of Resolution No. 01- 115 , it shall become effective January 1, 2002. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, at its Regular meeting held on the 8th day of November, 2001, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BENSON, KELLY, SPIEGEL, FERGUSON NOES: NONE ABSENT: CRITES ABSTAIN: NONE ATTEST: c 'J RACHELLE D.
