HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 07-66RESOLUTION NO. 07-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 99-80 AND ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION. WHEREAS, on October 10, 1985, the City of Palm Desert, California, did, by Ordinance No. 439, establish that compensation for members of the Planning Commission shall be set by resolution of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council subsequently adopted Resolution No. 85-103, which provided for compensation of $25.00 for each meeting attended by a Commissioner with an amount not to exceed $75.00 each calendar month; and WHEREAS, the City Council then adopted Resolution No. 99-80, which provides for compensation of $50.00 for each meeting attended by a Commissioner, not to exceed $150.00 each calendar month; and WHEREAS, it is determined that the escalating cost of living since 1999 and adoption of Resolution No. 99-80 warrants an increase in compensation for Members of the Palm Desert Planning Commission, also in keeping with the practice of other municipalities in the Coachella Valley to have increased the compensation for their commissioners. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, as follows: SECTION 1: Each member of the Planning Commission shall be paid for his/her services as follows: A. One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each meeting attended, not to exceed Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) each calendar month. B. The new rate of compensation shall be effective October 1, 2007. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, at its regular meeting held on the 13th day of September, 2007, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BENSON, FERGUSON, FINERTY, SPIEGEL, and KELLY NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ATTEST: Li4?
