HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC RES 2012-19RESOLUTION NO. 2012-19 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. The City Council for the City of Palm Desert, California, does hereby DETERMINE, ORDER and RESOLVE as follows: WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Palm Desert is eligible to receive Federal and/or State funding for certain transportation planning related projects, through the California Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) desires to apply for State funding through the California Department of Transportation for a Community Based Transportation Planning (CBTP) Grant for a 1 el 1 Parkway Project Outreach effort but is ineligible to do so due to its status as a joint powers authority; and, WHEREAS, for the purposes of this specific grant application, CVAG has approached the City of Palm Desert and the City agrees to serve as the "Applicant" and CVAG will serve as the "Sub -Applicant"; and, WHEREAS, should the City of Palm Desert be awarded the State CBTP Grant for CVAG's 1e11 Outreach Project, CVAG will provide a Memorandum of Understanding outlining responsibilities between the City and CVAG for the 1 el 1 Parkway Project Outreach effort and, WHEREAS, a Fund Transfer Agreement between the City of Palm Desert and the California Department of Transportation must be executed before such funds can be claimed through the CBTP Grant Program; and, WHEREAS, CVAG, in accordance with the Fund Transfer Agreement and prior to the execution of the Agreement between the City and California Department of Transportation, will deposit into the general fund of the City of Palm Desert an amount equal to 7.5% of the required 10% match to the grant award for an amount not to exceed $22,500 which will serve as the grant's required local cash match; and WHEREAS, the City of Palm Desert wishes to delegate authorization to execute the agreement and any amendments thereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Palm Desert authorizes the City Manager or designee to execute all Fund Transfer Agreements and any amendments thereto with the California Department of Transportation. Resolution No. 2012-19 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert City Council, held on this 22nd day of March , 2012, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BENSON, FINERTY, HARNIK, RROONEN, and SPIEGEL NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ROBERT A.
