HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA RES 278RESOLUTION NO. 278 A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT FINDING THAT THE USE OF TAXES ALLOCATED FROM PROJECT AREA NO. 4 FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOUSING OUTSIDE OF THE PROJECT AREA WILL BE OF BENEFIT TO THE PROJECT THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT HEREBY FINDS, DETERMINES, RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: 5 1,4IL1. The Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency, (the "Agency") has prepared a proposed Redevelopment Plan for Project Area No. 4, (the "Project Area") which would result in the allocation of taxes from the Project Area to the Agency for the purpvses of redevelopment. Section 2. Section 33334.2 (a) of the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health and Safety Code Sections 33000 . q.) requires, unless certain finding are made, that not less than twenty percent (20°10) of all taxes so allocated be used by the Agency for preserving, improving and increasing the community's supply of low and moderate income housing. Section 3. Section 33334.2(g) of the California Community Redevelopment Law provides that the Agency may use such funds outside of the Project Area if a finding is made by resolution of the Agency and the City Council of the City of Palm Desert that such use will be of benefit to the Project Area. Section 4: The Redevelopment Agency hereby finds and declares that the use of taxes allocated from the Project Area for the purpose of improving and increasing the community's supply of low and moderate income housing available at affordable housing costs outside the Project Area will be of benefit to the Project.
