SUSPUNDINQ TO *PUPATION OF CERTAIN SECTIONS OF
OPOVIAM2 80. 90 RELATING TO CAMPAIGN EXPENDITURES.
MORRAS, the City Council of the City of Pals Desert,
California, has been advised of the decision of the United States
Suprem Court in the Case of Buckley vs. Valec, and
NHENW, said City Council desires not to cloud any
election process nor to be party to any possible violation of
any conatitutional rights of their citizens?
NON, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Pals Desert, California, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION Is That Sub -Section C of Section 2 of
Ordinance No. 90 be and the same is hereby temporarily suspended
effective this date.
SECTION Ii: This Ordinance shall take effect upon
its adoption because of the necessity of protecting the public
health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Palm
Desert and because of the above referenced Court decision having
just been rendered and the City election to which said section
would be applicable is being held March 2, 1976.
SECTION III: The City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published once in the Palm Desert Post, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated within the City of
Pala Desert, and the same shall be in full force and effect as
of this date.
PABUD, APPROVED and ADOPTSD this lath day of February,
1976, by the City Council of the City of Pals Desert, California,
