CITY OF PALM DESERT.
111EREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California,
%a datevwined that iavaediate action is necessary to forestall any irreversible
trends and conflicting developments in the City of Palm Desertt and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is presently beginning Public Hearings on
the Subdivision Ordtnancei and,
WHEREAS, under the authority contained in Section 65858 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council considered an
interim ordinance as an emergency measure to place a 120 day moratorium on all
land divisions on all property in all R-1 Zoning Districts in the City of Palm
Desert.
• NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert DOTS
HEREBY ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1: No land divisions on property in any R-1 Zoning District
f ! within the City Limits of the City of Palm Desert shall be processed for a
.., period of 120 days, excepting those requests formally filed and currently in
process prior to May 1, 1976.
Section 2: This Ordinance is adopted under the authority created by
Section 658M of the Government Code of the State of California and shall be
effective on the date of passage hereof and shall remain in full force and
effect for a period of 120 days or until the effective date of the proposed
Subdivision Ordinance, whichever occurs first.
Section 3: The City Clerk of the City of Palm Desert, California, is
hereby directed to cause this Ordinance to be published once within fifteen (15)
days of adoption in the Palm Desert Post, a newspaper published and circulated
within the City of Palm Desert, California.
