HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 383ORDINANCE NO. 383 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 10.80.010 OF THE PALM DESERT MUNICIPAL CODE AS IT RELATES TO THE REGULATION OF PRIVATELY OWNED AND MAINTAINED STREETS AND PARKING AREAS WHEREAS, enforcement of traffic and vehicle laws is not allowed north of Highway I I I in privately owned and maintained streets and parking areas by the current Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, privately owned and maintained streets and parking areas are currently being constructed or are already constructed with no law enforcement protection; and WHEREAS, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the Palm Desert Town Center have requested such law enforcement as currently being done in other parts of the City per the Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1: That the Palm Desert Municipal Code, Section 10.80.010, be amended to read: All parking areas, lanes, aisles, driveways and streets lying between El Paseo on the south and Highway III on the north and the area commonly known as the Palm Desert Town Center with Highway I I I on the south and Fred Waring Drive on the north. SECTION 2: The City Clerk is directed to publish this Ordinance once in the Palm Desert Post, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Palm Desert, and shall certify to the passage of adoption of this Ordinance, and the same shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, at its regular meeting held on the 26th day of July, 1984, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Jackson, Kelly, Puluqi, Wilson & Snyder NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: NONE WALTER H.
