ORDINANCE NO. 445
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A ZONING
ORDINANCE AMENDMENT ADDING RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
PARKS AS A CONDITIONAL USE TO THE PR AND R-I-M
ZONES.
CASE NO. ZOA 85-7
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California did on
the 19th day of December, 1985 hold a duly noticed public hearing to consider
amendment to the zoning ordinance adding recreational vehicle parks to chapter
25.22 R-1-M (single family/mobile home residential district) and PR (planned
residential district).
WHEREAS, said amendment has complied with the requirements of the "City
of Palm Desert Procedures to Implement the California Environmental Quality
Act, Resolution No. 80-89", in that the director of community development has
determined the amendment to be a class 5 categorical exemption.
WHEREAS, at said public hearing, upon hearing and considering all testi-
mony and arguments, if any, of all persons desiring to be heard, said city
council did find the following farts and reasons to exist to recommend approval
of a zoning ordinance text amendment:
1. The proposed amendment would allow limited development of
recreational vehicle parks consistent with intent and purpose of the
zoning ordinance and Palm Desert General Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Palm
Desert, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct and constitute the
considerations of the commission in this case.
2. That it does hereby approve ZOA 85-7 as provided in the attached
exhibit, labeled Exhibit"A".
3. The City Clerk of the City of Palm Desert, California. is herebv
directed to publish this ordinance in the Palm Desert Post. a
newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the
City of Palm Desert, California, and shall be in full force and
effect thirty (30) days after its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Palm Desert
City Council, held on this 19th day of December, 1985 by the following vote, to
wit:

NOES: BENSON & KELLY
ABSENT: NONE
ABSTAIN: NONE

EXHIBIT "A"
To section 25.22.030 add:
H. Recreational Vehicle Parks
Create Section 25.22.300 RV Park Standards
1. Minimum project size of 5 acres.
2. Maximum density of 12 spaces per acre.
3. Minimum space area of 1500 square feet, minimum dimension 30' X 50'.
4. Minimum 40% common open space/recreation area.
5. Front project setback adjacent to public street of 25 feet with
combination of six foot masonry wall and landscaping to screen all
recreation vehicles.
6. Interior property lines to be bounded by 6 foot masonry wall and at
least 10 feet of landscaping.
7. Projects may be single use or developed as part of a larger resort
or residential development.
8. RV park shall be taxed a transient occupancy use.
