HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 515ORDINANCE NO. 515 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO STREET CUT AND TRENCH REPAIRS WITHIN NEWLY CONSTRUCTED STREETS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: (A) The City of Palm Desert will not allow any patches in new asphalt or concrete surfaces for a period of three years from the date of installation, unless approved by the Director of Public Works. (B) There will be a cash deposit required on all trench repairs, except for public utilities. Such cash deposit shall be in an amount determined by the Director of Public Works. (C) In the event there are unsatisfactory repairs, the Public Works Department should be empowered to hire a contractor or use City forces to effect the satisfactory repair, with all costs, including overhead and attorney fees, to be included in the billing to the contractor causing said unsatisfactory repairs. SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Palm Desert Post, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated within the City of Palm Desert and the same shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its adoption.
